Israel Conducts Attack on Hospital in Gaza
(MENAFN) Israeli warplanes struck inside Al-Aqsa Martyrs Hospital in central Gaza during an overnight attack early Monday, the Gaza Government Media Office reported.
According to the office, Israeli jets shelled tents sheltering displaced Palestinians within the hospital grounds near the outpatient clinic in Deir al-Balah, causing multiple injuries and significant damage to the facility.
This attack represents the 14th occasion the hospital has been struck by Israeli forces since the conflict began, which the office terms a “genocidal war” on the Gaza Strip. The statement denounced the assaults, asserting they reveal a deliberate pattern of targeting healthcare infrastructure and breaching international laws that protect medical facilities and civilians.
The Gaza Government Media Office held “the Israeli occupation, along with the US administration and complicit states, fully responsible for these systematic crimes.”
It urged the international community and the United Nations to act immediately to halt the Israeli assaults and provide urgent protection for Gaza’s hospitals and healthcare workers.
Since October 2023, Israeli military operations have killed nearly 63,500 Palestinians in Gaza, devastating the territory and triggering a severe famine crisis.
In November, the International Criminal Court (ICC) issued arrest warrants against Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and former Defense Minister Yoav Gallant for alleged war crimes and crimes against humanity in Gaza.
Meanwhile, Israel faces a separate genocide case at the International Court of Justice (ICJ) linked to its military campaign in the enclave.
