Sunrise Granted Korean Patent, Advancing Global Leadership in Anode Materials for Lithium-Ion Batteries and Energy Storage with Applications in AI Data Centers

Dover, USA, Sept. 30, 2025 (GLOBE NEWSWIRE) -- Sunrise New Energy Co., Ltd. (“Sunrise”, the “Company”, “we” or “our”) (NASDAQ: EPOW), a global leader in anode materials for lithium-ion batteries and energy storage, today announced that its subsidiary, Sunrise (Guizhou) New Energy Materials Co., Ltd., has been granted a Korean patent (Patent No. 10-2809382) for its invention titled “Preparation Method of an Anode Material for Lithium-Ion Batteries.” This achievement further advances Sunrise’s global leadership position in the lithium-ion battery and energy storage industries, while also extending applications to AI data center energy storage applications.

The newly granted patent covers a novel preparation method that significantly improves the efficiency, cycle life, and power performance of graphite-based anode materials. By enhancing both first-cycle Coulombic efficiency and high-rate capabilities, this innovation provides a breakthrough foundation for next-generation battery applications.

In addition to powering electric vehicles and grid-scale energy storage systems, the technology is particularly well-suited for AI data center energy storage packs, which demand ultra-high reliability, rapid charging, and long service life. The ability to support such demanding use cases further demonstrates Sunrise’s versatility and forward-looking innovation in the global battery supply chain.

“This Korean patent is a strong validation of our R&D and further proof of Sunrise’s leadership in advanced anode technologies,” said Mr. Haiping Hu, CEO of Sunrise. “With this breakthrough, we are not only strengthening our position in lithium-ion batteries and energy storage worldwide but also enabling high-performance storage solutions for AI data centers, one of the fastest-growing global markets.”
